Talking Board

The “Talking Board” is a tool used by certain Spiritualists to communicate with spirits of the dead. It is also used by some people as a divination tool, to ascertain answers to questions about the past, present, and future. Various types of talking boards have been used for centuries. The board is 15" x 12" and comes with a planchette. About the Ouija Board: In February, 1891, the first few advertisements started appearing in papers: “Ouija, the Wonderful Talking Board,” boomed a Pittsburgh toy and novelty shop, describing a magical device that answered questions “about the past, present and future with marvelous accuracy” and promised “never-failing amusement and recreation for all the classes,” a link “between the known and unknown, the material and immaterial. - Smithsonian Magazine
